THE SEQUEL IS COMING... starting in the form of Python Volume 2. I've completed the rough draft for the first half, and we're now starting rounds of editing and review so we can release the Beta.

My Books

I'm the author of the "A Common-Sense Guide to Data Structures and Algorithms" book series. (Still waiting for it to be picked up as a movie.)

The topics of data structures and algorithms is scary and obtuse to many people, but it's not because the topics are too difficult. It's just that the current books on the market are not written with the everyday programmer in mind.

This my attempt at making DSA easy and intuitive to understand, and it appears that I've succeeded to some degree, as I've sold more than 25,000 books to date. Below is more info about my books, as well as additional resources.

This book, published in 2023, is a Python translation of "A Common-Sense Guide to Data Structures and Algorithms, Second Edition." I dubbed this one "Volume 1", since I'm currently working on a sequel.

This book, published 2024, is the JavaScript equivalent to my Second Edition as well as Python Volume 1. It's currently available at PragProg as a Beta book, and should go to print around June.

Published in 2020, This is the original "polyglot" book, and uses examples in Ruby, JavaScript, and Python. This is a much more comprehensive and improved over the First Edition. If you're looking for a language-agnostic version of my book, this is the one you want.

This is the book that started it all: my first stab at taking the scary subject of data structures and algorithms and making it easy, published in 2017. While it was a good book, the Second Edition is much better. So for the love of all that is good in the world, do not buy this book.
